Last week a bunch of the Father Rabbit team from both our head office and our stores woke up bright and early (actually dark and early in this mid winter time) and headed over to Eat My Lunch for a morning of volunteering.

Eat My Lunch is on a mission to ensure no child is at school hungry, starting with kids in our own backyard right here in New Zealand. With the help of volunteers like ourselves, and their buy one, give one initiative, every school day Eat My Lunch feeds hundreds of children by donating healthy and yummy lunches.

As well as the donated lunches for kids, Eat My Lunch has a team that also wakes up early each day to prepare the lunches that New Zealand businesses and individuals have purchased for their own meals. The best part about buying a lunch from Eat My Lunch is that they provide a child's lunch for every one purchased. Don't be afraid of missing out if you have any special dietary requirements as they have lunch options for all.

We took off the jewellery, washed our hands and popped on aprons and hairnets and got to work. The lunchbox plan for the day was a cheese and relish sandwich, a piece of fruit and a cookie. With Eat My Lunch's well oiled system, our team was proud to roll out 660 lunches for kiwi kids all before 8:30am!
