Fog Linen | Noah Bell

$9.00

Hand made Noah Bells from India. Noah Bells are distinctive from all other bells due to their melodic tones.

Each bell is completely handmade and individually tuned.

The secret family formula of smelting a combination of metals and hand hewing of wooden clappers is passed down from generation to generation, by a tiny community of 20 families in a single village in Kutch District.

The bells are traditionally used by shepherds to tend their flock and also by rural dwellers to scare away devils and evil spirits.

Bloomingville A/S was founded in Denmark in 2000. From its modest beginnings with only 2 employees it has developed into a thriving business with a team of 40 employees and 40 agents in Europe. Throughout this growth process it has maintained its focus on excellent quality, reasonable prices and the highest level of service.

Initially, Bloomingville's product line consisted of items sourced from European producers as well as a small variety of pieces designed by the company's founder, Betina Stampe. Over time that focus shifted, and today the vast majority of the products are designed in-house, supplemented by special vintage items sourced directly from selected suppliers in Southeast Asia and Africa. The unique Bloomingville style is a mixture of raw products with a nostalgic Scandinavian twist and reproductions of fantastic pieces from times past inspired by French brocante.

Scent of Home Candle | Night Jasmine | Iron Vessel

$94.00

The beautiful lush scent of the evergreen night blooming jasmine flower also known as the Queen of the night.

350g

THE SCENT OF HOME candle is a beautiful hand made & hand poured soy wax candle. If burnt properly, your candle will last you well over 65 hours.

Your first burn should take approximately 4 hours for the wax to melt its way to the sides of the glass. At this point blow out your candle and completely let it reset before burning again. Why is this so important? Soy wax has a burn memory. Each time you burn your candle, burn to the very edge of the glass so that your candle doesn’t tunnel. This will give your candle a wonderful long life.

Each time you relight your candle trim off the mushroom and make sure your wick is around 1 cm high. This keeps the integrity of the wick in place. A perfect burning candle is all dependent on where the wick sits. It must always be in the centre. If your wick is too long it can favour one side and will burn unevenly. If you notice that your candle after a couple of house is crooked you can gently the back of a pen and push it back into the centre.

Smoke around the top of the glass is not uncommon. There is always going to be a little soot left on you glass especially if your candle is burning for a long time. Use a damp cloth or a baby wipe to clean the glass leaving it crystal clear. The smoke is due to the flame and the fragrance oil burning. You will notice a lot more smoke towards the end of your candles life due to the fragrance oil setting at the bottom of the glass during setting time.

Nkuku Mango Wood Pizza Board Quick shop
Nkuku Mango Wood Pizza Board

Nkuku Mango Wood Pizza Board

$94.00

These wonderful circular chopping boards are a fantastic way to serve pizza, cheese and antipastos. The colour of the mango wood really makes them a thing of beauty. Each board comes with a leather handle and they look wonderful hanging in a kitchen.

The mango wood used is sustainable. Mango trees are initially grown for their fruit but once the trees reach a certain size and age, they stop bearing fruit. It is then that the trees can be cut down and used to create wood products. The removal of the old trees makes space for farmers to plant new mango trees. This not only means that none of the wood is wasted but offers a supplementary income to mango wood farmers.

Mango wood is a hard wood that comes in many shades from light to dark.

Hand wash only.

Nkuku adheres to Fair Trade and sustainable manufacturing processes.

- COLOUR: Natural
- MATERIAL: Mango wood
- SIZES: Medium, 32cm diameter & Large, 48cm diameter

Father Rabbit | Ceramic Deep Bowl | Cloud White

$25.00

Father Rabbit | Ceramic Deep Bowl | Cloud White

Deep Bowl: 13.5cm Diameter, 8cm Depth

Father Rabbit Ceramics | Made in New Zealand

Father Rabbit has been hard at work on a new collection of Father Rabbit ceramics. The collection is a very personal one with all the shapes and colours drawn from Father Rabbit creators Claudia Zinzan & Nick Hutchinson’s home and history.

The design process was a collaborative one with a respect and admiration for a more hands-on artisanal approach. This wasn’t about digital precision but a more intuitive approach marrying Bruce of Studio Ceramic’s unmatched experience, Claudia’s ability to create that perfect neutral palette, Nick’s handcrafted approach, and Father Rabbit’s demand for timeless, everyday quality. The result is a collection that is pleasing to the eye... it simply looks ‘right’ and feels like it should when held in the hand.

The collection is comprised of a cereal bowl, pasta bowl, side plate and dinner plate. Claudia & Nick looked at each piece individually, contemplating the shape for each item in respect only to it’s function - the ‘perfect’ cereal bowl was decided completely independently from what their ideal for a pasta bowl would be. Once all these forms were in Claudia & Nick’s opinion ‘perfect’, only then did they step back and look at the four pieces together, and gently manipulated their shapes to create cohesion across the collection.

So too the palette - taken from the walls of Claudia & Nick’s Grey Lynn home - sees gradual and sympathetic changes in hue, as Father Rabbit encourages us to play with the colour options when putting personalized collections together. Imagine open shelves with crockery stacked creating an ombre effect, or for the more OCD colour blocked en masse.

Please note if you are purchasing more than  6 pieces of Father Rabbit Ceramics, there may be a freight charge for the order as it will be weighing over the qualifying weight for free shipping. Due to the fragility of ceramics we carefully pack and wrap your order which results in bulky deliveries. Please contact us if you would like to give you a shipping quote info@fatherrabbit.com or +64 9 3602573.

Father Rabbit | Ceramic Dinner Plate | Egg Blue

Dinner Plate: 26cm
