Father Rabbit's Autumn | Winter Moodboard 2021

We are thrilled to share with you our Winter 2021 mood board. We always do these for summer and winter as a buying team so that we stick to an agenda and don't buy everything we see! Brody suggested that you might actually like to see our vision.. so here we are. This our seasonal offering that sits alongside our core range. It's strong on forest greens, ticking stripes with pops of blue in the prints. We've added texture and charm with stunning hand blocked napkins and tablecloths. We have taken inspiration for the moody green from Plain English Kitchens. I love the contrast of the artisanal earthy rusts seen in the offering for the dining room with crisp whites in our sheeting. We have a wide offering of forest green in lots of different products from cups and saucers to linens and aprons.

At home lately I am thinking about creating layers of history with products from different times. I love modern and vintage, designer and mass produced. This year I am wanting to add more original art and designer pieces that are eclectic and bring me joy.  I love a tidy and organised home but to be  honest I’m not really a minimalist in the traditional sense of the word. I do have white walls and floors but that is only to provide a canvas.  I’m keen to create a boutique hotel vibe - crisp and slick but with gorgeous art and objects.

The Father Rabbit home is full of simple high quality everyday items and it is lovely to be able to bring in some special pieces each season that work back with our core range. Plus we love exploring other stores and galleries to find those special one of a kind pieces that interweave with our range. I've recently bought Max Thomson art and Martino Glamper stools from Tessuti. I’ve mixed these in with the prints we sell at Father Rabbit. The stool works beautifully with our antique dining table. I've also found the most amazing cushions at Madder & Rouge. The Maison Levy pieces featuring the art of Haby Bonomo. Choose like you would wall art. They are all so different.

Paper Collective Prints from Father Rabbit

With this in mind we have brought in seasonal pieces to Father Rabbit that will hopefully bring you joy. You can perhaps weave into your home to create your special aesthetic. Modern prints from Paper Collective. The Coral by Nina Brun, Her by Kit Agar, The Blue Cape by Amelie Hegardt. Rather than offering too big a range of prints we have tried to show you how selected prints can work together. We have Indian hand block tablecloths and napkins which bring an artisanal charm to the table. All pared back with practical pieces like the stunning Hudson sofa and the original Anglepoise lamp. That's what Father Rabbit is about, we love our classics and core pieces but he also loves a story and history so by teaming all your treasures with our collection is a match made in heaven.

We have a strong emphasis on forest green this season. The hero piece has to be the new Cultiver Forest Green linen - not an olive and not a bottle green - it has just a touch of brightness!

For linens and bedding I will alway have my fail safes... ticking stripes, linen and crisp cottons. This year we are introducing the incredible Seneca ticking sheeting into the range which will become a core range for us and hotel quality sheets from L&M Home with the most amazing hand feel and attention to detail.

We hope you enjoy this round up. Let me know if you have any questions. We have recently photographed my house which you can view here. I want to show you a proper behind the scenes. Not everything in my house is perfect and “renovated”.  You’ll also see the special collections we have and lots of older Father Rabbit products. For more original art pieces look to our neighbours at Newmarket, The Sanderson Gallery ... I am forever trawling their instagram for artwork and keen to pop in there regularly. Another great gallery in Hawkes Bay I've been keeping an eye on is Parlour Projects, especially for Billy Cully's work.

Enjoy our winter collection

x Claudia
