Father Rabbit at Home with Beck Wadworth

This week we were lucky enough to take a peek inside the home of the entrepreneur, creative and founder of An Organised Life, Beck Wadworth. We chatted with Beck about her love for minimalism, her favourite An Organised Life pieces for the home and how she balances home and work life.
Tell us a bit about yourself, your home, and who you live with?

I'm the Founder of An Organised Life Stationery & currently I live in Westmere, Auckland with my partner Isaac & our beautiful puppy Beau.Do you have personal home or style philosophy?

I’m definitely a minimalist. With my home, wardrobe and business my ethos has always been quality over quantity or less is more.I love a neutral colour palette with a lot of negative space & I add warmth through textures, tones & greenery rather than lots of colour.
What are some of your favourite items in your house, sentimental or otherwise?

One of my morning rituals is lighting a candle at home, so naturally I'm big on scent. My go-to favourites for candles are Le Labo, Diptyque & Arc.

I love collecting beautiful coffee table books which I display around the home - the majority of them are interiors or architecture focused. My Poppie Pack print reminds me of my 6 years spent living in Bondi, Sydney & I also have some beautiful black & white painting my late Aunt painted that are really sentimental to me.
Do you have a favourite space or room in your home?

I love our dining room & lounge. They have a calming feeling about them & we spend a lot of time between these 2 rooms.
Which An Organised Life products do you use the most at home?

Definitely my 2022 Diary - I went with an A4 Daily Planner this year. I always have a notebook & pen by my side - I'm currently using the Monday Volume 01 Notebook. And of course sticky notes!Where do you draw inspiration from and how do you avoid creative burnout?

For An Organised Life, I’m constantly inspired by different things. Sometimes it’s poetry or art, other times it’s talking to a friend who is having trouble organising something & it inspires me to create a new product or piece that helps with this topic.

My business is a little different to others, in that I don’t set out each year trying to launch X amount of products.

In terms of creative waves, when they come I drop everything & roll with them! It's all part of the fun.
What are some ways you keep the balance between your home and work life?

Over the last few years I've focused on creating a solid wind down routine where I put away everything to do with work at the end of the day, go for a walk & come home feeling I can settle into home life. Being a business owner, It doesn't always go to plan but it's always the goal.

I also think it's important not to work on the weekend & to take the time for some proper R&R.
