Based in NYC, Sundays founder Amy Lin believes that “You should never have to sacrifice health for beauty,” which is why she developed a nail wellness brand, dedicated to offering a range of non toxic products that are mindful in their production while still being trendy and enjoyable to use. After attending beauty school, Amy learnt what was actually going into the products she was using and the effect these ingredients can have on us. Working with a chemist to examine what ingredients were commonly used in products already on the market Amy managed to find alternatives to produce a nail polish with a non toxic formula.
Sunday’s non-toxic nail polishes are formulated without ten potentially health-harming chemicals commonly found in regular nail polish: dibutyl phthalate, TPHP, toluene, xylene, ethyl tosylamide, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, parabens, and tert-butyl hydroperoxide.
Sadly, animal products are often used in beauty product formulas, including nail polish. Sundays take special care to ensure none of their ingredients are derived from animal products, or have anything to do with animals for that matter. It’s not nice to think about, but often cosmetics and beauty products are tested on our furry friends in laboratories before they hit shelves in stores. You’ll be glad to know that neither the polishes or polish ingredients were tested on animals.
